Pre-requisites for the MSC-T training include taking the adult Mindful Self-Compassion course, having your own mindfulness and self-compassion practice, and having experience working with teens in either an educational or clinical setting. Information about our current training on Tuesdays, February 24 - March 31, 2026 from 11 am - 2 pm EST can be found here: https://apply.assumption.edu/register/?id=1e692235-323d-48c4-a08a-7a0776319f6d

Mindful Self-Compassion for Teens (formerly Making Friends With Yourself) is an empirically-supported 8-week program designed to cultivate the skill of self-compassion in teens. This newly formatted training will prepare you to teach both the 8-week MSC-T program as well as the 16-session classroom curriculum, Mindful Self-Compassion for Teens in Schools. It is designed by its creator, Karen Bluth, with Marina Barnes and Lea Christo, and will be facilitated by them.
